Refund and Return Policy Last Updated: May 18, 2026

At Funky Munchkin Candle Company, we want you to be happy with your purchase. Because candles are personal-use items involving fire and safety, we have the following policy:

Return Window

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return, exchange, or refund.

What Qualifies for Return or Refund

  • Damaged or Broken in Shipping: If your order arrives damaged or broken, we will offer a replacement or full refund (including original shipping costs). Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage.
  • Defective Items: If a candle has a manufacturing defect (e.g., wick will not light properly, container cracks on first use — not caused by burning), we will replace it or issue a refund.
  • Wrong Item Sent: We will replace it or refund you in full.

What Does NOT Qualify for Return

  • Any candle that has been burned, lit, or used in any way.
  • Candles that show signs of use (even if only burned briefly).
  • Custom, personalized, or made-to-order items.
  • Returns requested after the 30-day window.
  • Products returned without our prior approval.

We do not accept returns simply because you changed your mind or didn’t like the scent after trying the candle.

Return Process

  1. Email us at themunchkin@funkymunchkincandles.com within 30 days with your order number and the reason for the return.
  2. We will review your request and, if approved, send you a Return Authorization (RA) number and shipping instructions.
  3. Return the unused and unburned items in their original condition.
  4. Once we receive and inspect the returned candles, we will process your refund or replacement.

Important: The candles must be completely unburned and unused. Even a single lighting disqualifies the item from return.

Refunds

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days after we receive and inspect your return.
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or shipping damage.
  • Return shipping is at your expense (except for damaged/defective items).

Exchanges

We’re happy to exchange eligible unused and unburned items for a different scent, size, or product (subject to availability). You are responsible for any price difference and return shipping costs.

Damaged Shipments

Please inspect your package immediately upon arrival. Take clear photos of any damage (including the outer box and shipping label) and contact us right away. Claims for shipping damage must be made within 7 days of delivery.

International Orders

Customers outside the United States are responsible for all return shipping costs, customs fees, and duties. We are not responsible for packages lost or damaged on international returns.

Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase will apply.
